A leading defence and security consultancy who are known to have some of the most intelligent workforce across the UK are looking to bring in an experienced aerospace systems engineer to join their System Engineering Centre of Excellence.

Due to billions of £ of investment and organisational growth and securing prestigious national and international projects they are expanding their team, bringing in new talent to complement their existing teams.

The opportunity will be joining a systems engineering family of engineers and architects leading the activities in all aspects of aerospace systems engineering including requirements analysis, design, definition, solution and development through to conclusion. Role Profile: Working closely with the project manager to plan and deliver (generally through a team) all the technical/engineering activities required to meet project objectivesResponsible for devising and delivering the technical solution using sound technical, management and leadership skills such as systems engineering management and project managementCo-ordinates the high-level engineering activities as applicable to systemsAddresses enterprise and lifecycle considerationsEngages with the customer and other collaborating organisations, including in the devising of plans, review of progress, the delivery of the resultant system, and any subsequent support activitiesInternal and external focal point of contact for the project on all technical/engineering aspects and assuranceManaging the technical risk and opportunities on behalf of the projectEnsuring that the system meets appropriate regulatory, legal, safety and other engineering requirements and standardsResponsible for directing and managing the output of assigned junior systems engineers (of potentially different specialisms).

Experience required:

* Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering or technical discipline, or proven experience working in an equivalent engineering role. (Typ. Aerospace / Defence/ Mechanical / Electronics / Systems Engineering/ Software/ Physics)Aerospace systems engineering.A good knowledge of UK Military Aviation Authority regulatory publications, Certification, and Trials ActivitiesMilitary Trial experienceA good understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and its implementationAble to identify and manage complexity with appropriate techniques in order to reduce riskunderstanding of the application of Systems Engineering to different domains
