Business Development Manager

One of the UK's leading main contractors is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team based in Solihull.

The company work on various new build projects across the West Midlands. Sectors include Health, Education and Commercial and the project values are typically up to £20m.

The Business Development Manager is required to maintain and grow work streams by fostering and developing long term relationships with key clients as well as the supply chain.

Business Development Manager Duties

-Make and maintain contact with key clients to promote the company

-Track potentially attractive work prospects ensuring opportunity to bid is achieved

-Completion of OJEU applications

-Promote the capabilities and expertise of the business to new and existing clients

-Provide market intelligence and input to bid submissions

-Obtain client feedback on company performance

-Have a sound understanding of the UK Building sector

-Development of strong personal relationships with the client/consultant/supply chain and staff

-Preparation of Business Development reports

-Manage Business Development budget

-Manage the social programme, and facilitate meetings

-Line management responsibilities

-To support and be familiar with own role and responsibility in respect of Business Continuity Planning. Ensuring that team members are also aware of the plans and communicates same

Business Development Manager Requirements

-Qualification to degree level in either Civil engineering, management or other construction related fields

-To come from either a contracting or consultant background with some time spent in a senior position on site delivering projects

-Experience in a position within a client organisation would also be considered where appropriate

-To have the technical and business knowledge necessary to contribute to questionnaires and pre-qualification documents

-Ability to use MS Word and PowerPoint with some knowledge of desktop publishing

-Experience of working within a similar Business Development Management role within a similar organisation to ourselves is highly desirable

-To be able to converse with technical experts

Business Development Remuneration

Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 per annum (experience dependant)

Location: Solihull

Other benefits: Car/Car allowance, 8% generous pension, 26 days holiday, healthcare
