A successful and leading business who research, develop and manufacture complex machinery in-house are looking for a General Manager to take the reins and lead the company through a continual period of growth with multiple new projects in the pipeline.As General Manager you'll be responsible for multiple aspects of the business and you will direct & manage the Engineering, Design & Production areas to ensure that all are performing to agreed standards, plans and targets. You will ensure robust systems are in place to provide data & inform decision making.You will be integral to the implementation of continuous improvement within this SME business and you will need to be able to exploit your experience at a senior level to drive lean practices throughout the business.The position of General Manager is aligned to take over from the current Managing Director when he retires in the next couple of years.Essential skills required for the position:Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior management / director level capacity within Low Volume Manufacturing/ production environment.Expert in manufacturing practicesLean Manufacturing or Lean Six SigmaHigh level commercial and strategic ability coupled with technical knowledgeShow authoritative leadership at all levels, internally and externally.This role will suit you if you are strategically focused with technical knowledge and proven success in leading product innovation and production management.
