Operational Security Advisor - Basingstoke - 12 Month ContractMy client, a global technology consultancy are looking for an Operational Security Advisor for a 12 Month contract. The position will be based in Basingstoke and can offer a competitive daily rate. Role Background:The successful candidate will provide a co-ordinated planned approach to Operational Security within the project. You will also provide timely and pragmatic advice to internal stakeholders to ensure programme compliance with client security policy and external stakeholders in accordance with mandated policies and procedures.You will also contribute and work pragmatically to companywide processes, standards, procedures and work instructions. As well as contributing to reviews to ensure standards are being adopted. Whilst ensuring that any activities, processes and standards that can be planned and measured are undertaken to deliver the security requirements of the programme.The below are a number of activities that you will be expected to carry out over the duration of the assignment; Conduct spot checks and musters of classified material in accordance with JSP440.Carry out combination lock changes within JSP440 prescribed timelinesCarry out security key rotations within JSP440 prescribed timelinesControl access to delivery Sites including updating access lists and audits of visitors and processAssist the Information Assurance Security Architect with the closeout of Corrective Action and Mitigation Statement (CAMS).Lead on the movement/disposal of Tier 3 hardware and classified materialEnsure continued compliance to System Security Operating Procedures (SyOPs) and LSI's. Required Skills:Candidates should be able to demonstrate at least 5 years' experience in an operational security position. Including technical system audits e.g. using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tooling or other elevated access privileges.Prior experience of working within the Defence sector is also desirable.You should also have a detailed understanding and experience of delivering security in accordance with JSP440 and other HMG regulations e.g. IS4 and IS5.Sound and detailed knowledge of IT, Operational, Personnel security procedures and policies is also an advantage.Candidates should be eligible and willing to undergo a DV Clearance prior to going on site.
