Linux Support Engineer - Scripting

Spring technology are currently working in partnership with an award winning retail / commercial bank based in Leek in recruiting for a linux support engineer with a strong focus on scripting. The bank has customer service at it's core and is seeking an enthusiastic individual that believes this philosophy and strives to achieve great things

£40k - £47k

As a Linux support engineer you will be providing support to the availability of IT services in line with SLA's. You will have extensive scripting experience and experience within creating automation scripts for batch tasks. You will be preventing the re-occurrence of problems and provide change delivery support across the business areas

Key Responsibilities

*Be an escalation point for the service desk, providing expert response and resolution

*Create automation scripts for batch tasks

*Ensure service and incidents are managed effectively

*Work with suppliers and external resources as required to deliver project work

*Maintain operational relationships with key internal stakeholders

You will need

*Complex UNIX scripting experience

*Experience within either Perl, AWK, SQL, PHP scripting

*A good understanding of software development principles

*Experience of complex technical service delivery

*Problem solver, analytic mind and a strong decision maker
