easyJet is a high availability, high throughput business that has total reliability on its IT systems. The Technical Architect role in our Enterprise Technology team is responsible for realising the benefits of software and application architecture in order to meet the business needs. You will have technical expertise in integration, commercial off the shelf packages (mainly used within Finance and HR), with expert knowledge in design patterns and general development acquired from significant ‘on the ground' practical experience.

The Technical Architect role works with the Enterprise Architects to set the platform technical roadmap, and also works with the Solution Architect role and software delivery teams on a day-to-day basis to ensure the delivery of new solutions is in adherence to overarching standards

What you will be doing: 

To shape and manage the Integration Architecture for our corporate IT (Workday) landscape including;

Providing technical expertise and guidance to development teams (both easyJet and 3rd parties) around architecture design and implementation, ensuring standards are consistency upheld  and quality practices are embedded early within delivery teams

Maintain a technical Roadmap for the platform, defining how constituent technologies, frameworks and hosted environment are kept up to date to ensure maximum productivity and cost effectiveness.

Set and govern non-functional requirements for systems ensuring that all delivery teams meet set standards around performance, security, code maintainability and supportability.

Work with other Architects to ensure that application design principles are adhered to in the creation of any new systems / platforms

Work with the Technical Architecture to input to the strategic technical roadmaps for the system and business capabilities.

Stay up to date with emerging technology trends. Seek to innovate and champion new technologies/frameworks/tools where appropriate.

Work with the easyJet Technical Design Authority to ensure that designs receive appropriate and timely governance. Presenting technical solutions where required.

Reviewing, assessing and approving requests that deviate from the published technical strategies, policies and standards.

Ensuring that the Integration technical architecture documentation for the domain is kept up to date and made available as required

Requirements of the Role

What we are looking for: 

Significant experience within integration of COTS (commercial off the shelf packages), ideally in a HR/Finance environment.

Experience of Workday or similar systems would be an advantage but not essential.

Demonstrable experience of delivering high quality technical solutions in line with business needs and timescales.

Understanding of software best practices, design principles & patterns

Ability to explain complex technical information in business terms, helping to shape business process

Good understanding of coding best practices for security and performance

Experience of working in a technology based role and interfacing to a varied number of internal and external stakeholders
