Junior Business Analyst

£25,000 - £35,000 + perm benefits

A leading educational institute is currently recruiting for a Junior Business Analyst to work with the business teams throughout the analysis and requirements phases to enable a deep understanding of the business "problem" and requirements. The Junior Business Analyst will be involved in capturing requirements in sufficient detail to enable future design and solution decisions to identify potential solutions that address the requirements and recommend a way forward.

Experience/ Skills

*Demonstrable evidence of and proven analytical and problem solving capability; including ability to analyse system/process changes from the business perspective

*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

*Ability to learn quickly with the flexibility to adapt to change

*Confidence to constructively challenge the current ways of working

*Comprehensive understanding of how to identify and evaluate options for improving business

*Support successful business change programmes across an organisation

*Know how to categorise, analyse and manage stakeholders; model business processes; establish, document and model requirements

*Able to demonstrate experience of gathering requirements to define development work items

*Proven track record of successfully working in a team

*A demonstrable ability to understand, critique and manage complex processes.

*You will be expected to agree beforehand deliverables with line manager / project manager along with the timing of on-going reviews of progress and final delivery. Most pan-University projects can last 6-18 months.

*You will need to be able to balance the pressing demands of project deliverables against longer term commitments e.g. understanding the direction of departments, research of externally identified opportunities

Business Analysis:

*Supporting the Business Analysis function in the IT Department and assisting the more experienced Business Systems Analysts

*Eliciting and documenting the business requirements

*Simple process mapping and improvement activities

*Assisting the team with process mapping of existing processes and the design and the production of new business processes where directed

*Assisting with the design and development of full requirements and functional specification documentation according to standard templates, using clear, concise and unambiguous language

*Updating documents where necessary

*Supporting the running of workshops :e.g. scheduling, agenda's documenting

*Supporting test cycles particularly business User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

*To manage small projects and pieces of work to delivery (with support from more experienced Business Systems Analyst)

*To maintain and help develop project web sites, in particular where such sites serve as tool for project team members and also information route for project communication plans.

*To be responsible for providing project support in general on collaborative/university-wide projects (waterfall / agile).
