Senior Data Engineer - Technical Lead

We have an exciting opportunity to work with one of the world's largest consultancy services and bring your knowledge in Data Engineering to an eclectic and wide range of end client projects and internal programmes. You will lead a strong team of data scientists and engineers to working alongside product managers and development teams to design, develop, deploy market leading data engineering tools, practices and workflows.

This role will also focus on the automation of systems where possible and so we are looking for experience Data engineers who know how to design and develop data intensive systems but also how to improve and automate these systems.

Skills / Environment

Strong technical leadership and team management skills

Design. development and deployment of data driven solutions

Cloud services and systems integration - AWS

Object Oriented programming - Python

PAAS - AWS / Lambda, EMR, Batch, Kinesis

Data frameworks - Apache, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka

SQL and NoSQL

Knowledge of data architecture - designing effective system architectures for data integration

Data modelling

Incorporation of development methodologies into the cloud engineering practices - Agile / TDD / CI / CD

Linux systems administration and cluster management

Ideally you will also have knowledge of:

Java or Scala programming

Knowledge of IoT architecture ( Internet of Things )

API Design and deployment of web services

Data governance approaches and integration into regulatory requirements

Salary: up to £82,000 basic - plus £8.5 k in flexible benefits and share holder pay outs.
