Lloyds Banking Group is the UK's leading Retail, Digital and Commercial bank with over 30m customers so we have a huge responsibility to help Britain prosper.

We're in the midst of an ambitious programme to transform into the bank of the future with a £3bn investment over 3 years. Our ultimate goal is to improve customer and colleague experiences while boosting business performance through investing in our people, processes and data.

Behavioural Science forms an integral part of our transformation so we've set up a dedicated team of Behavioural Scientists who use state-of-the-art techniques and research methods to improve overall customer experience and resolve real business problems.

Could you help them make it possible?

What will you be doing?

You'll have a good amount of freedom to craft the role around your core expertise and strengths but will likely get involved with the following:

You'll provide thought leadership and champion behavioural insights to help different business areas drive customer understanding and help customers make better decisions.

You'd design and test behaviourally-informed solutions to transform experiences and deliver tangible benefits to our customers and colleagues.

You'll build reusable knowledge, processes and methodologies within the Behavioural Science team to help drive the team's efficiency, scope and growth.

Advising a wide range of business leaders and presenting behavioural research and findings to support key business decisions.

You'll partner with leading global institutions to help bring a deeper understanding of behavioural science into the Group.

And you'll get to collaborate with colleagues from different backgrounds and areas of expertise as a part of a truly diverse team.

What should you bring with you?

A creative and enterprising mind-set coupled with the empathy to understand others' perspectives and diverse opinions to achieve the best outcomes.

Relevant experience in applying behavioural science techniques to resolve real-world problems, in business, public sector or academia and implementing behaviourally-informed solutions.

Strong knowledge of quantitative research methods with the ability to communicate effectively with less technical audiences.

Strong academic background in a meaningfully relevant discipline e.g. economics or the psychology of judgement, decision-making or consumer behaviour.

An understanding of ethical and regulatory expectations in financial markets - ideally with an awareness examples where regulatory expectations haven't been met.

Experience affecting organisational change based around a new finding, idea or initiative by nurturing support and driving colleagues' awareness.

Personal resilience and business development skills developed in a large, matrix commercial environment.

Ideally you'd also have:

Experience working within retail financial services, or an alternative industry with a substantial focus on retail customer behaviours

Practical experience of running large and impactful quantitative experiments, such as using digital A/B testing, personalisation and analytics platforms

Knowledge of statistical techniques as applied in the social sciences, including experience using data management and analysis software, such as SQL, R, Python or equivalent.

What would you get in return?

This is a rare opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary group of entrepreneurs shaping the bank.

Our culture brings together intelligent and driven people from diverse backgrounds and we're passionate about diversity as well as providing genuine equal opportunity.

You'd also be joining a leading digital organisation with substantial career potential as we look to grow our Behavioural Science practice.

We'll also provide a package that includes a performance-related bonus, generous pension contribution, car/allowance and a range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle.

Our salary ranges will vary with skills and experience levels but would be in the region of c£63,000 - c£73,600.

So, if being at the cutting edge of digital banking and an ambitious transformation appeals and you've the background we're seeking then get in touch, we'd love to hear from you...
