Solution Architect

Spring Technology are working with a leading organisation in Chesterfield to find a dynamic Solution Architect to manage and guide the development of all aspects of their digital platform, technology estate and architecture.

The Role

You will focus on ensuring our client gets the most out of its next generation Digital Platform including the delivery of a high quality user experience, fit for purpose systems and high standards of access, availability, usability and usefulness.

As the Solution Architect you will manage the co-ordination of changes and set a future roadmap that makes efficient use of the available ICT resources.

The Responsibilities

*Deliver the smooth transition from legacy systems to modern replacement technologies and standards.

*Put in place the right training and development plans so that team members thrive within the organisation.

*Work closely with Business Analysts and service teams to understand opportunities to employ the digital platform to improve efficiency under a continuous improvement strategy.

*Review and support the preparation of designs by internal and 3rd party engineering teams.

*Consolidate internally driven and vendor driven plans into a coordinated roadmap, balancing the risk of disruption with the need for timely delivery of improvements. Manage the delivery of the roadmap, identifying risks and issues and coordinating an appropriate response.

*Govern the use of Development, Test and Production environments, enforcing good practices in code management and delivery of releases.

*Work with the Head of ICT Improvement on the strategy for the digital platform and set out the proactive measures required to improve services for customers.

*Monitor and understand the data in all of the organisations applications and how this data is transferred and integrated between applications - across the digital platform and legacy technologies.

*Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the emerging capabilities of the components of the digital platform (and its partner / apps / plug-ins community) and put forward suggestions on how the new features could be employed.

*Manage the team validating that staff bring and continuously build on the skills needed to work effectively.

The Requirements

*You will require solution architecture experience and be able to engage equally well with technical and non-technical audiences when gathering inputs and setting the path forward.

*Expertise in the following areas - Cloud, Mobile device management, security and compliance, web based API, CRM

*Proficient in the methods and techniques for risk management, business impact analysis, countermeasures and contingency arrangements relating to the serious disruption of ICT services.

*Broad technical knowledge and experience of migrating ICT solutions into the Cloud, networks, virtual and physical server requirements and across a range of other technologies, databases and applications.

*Previous experience of security, data protection and audit reviews.
