Cloud Infrastructure Architect (AWS)

My nationally recognised and market leading client is looking for an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Architect (AWS) to join their well established IT team at their head office in Coventry.

Key responsibilities:

*Lead the Amazon Web Services Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE), setting out infrastructure designs that generate better usage of AWS technologies.

*Accountable for monitoring emerging Cloud technologies, across multiple platforms including AWS and Azure.

*Design and ensure compliant solutions across Cloud platforms including AWS and Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS).

*Oversee the development of technology strategies and roadmaps within the Technology / Infrastructure Architecture domain.

*Responsible for generating and maintaining key architectural artefacts related to all activities

*Effectively engage and manage key stakeholder relationships collaboratively across the IT function.

*Provide consultancy and influence leadership teams, facilitating decisions to secure sponsorship ensuring that agreed solutions take a balanced approach considering functional fit, cost, service quality and systems management requirements.

*Provide consultancy and advisory to other architects within start-up phases of projects.

*Understand production plans, identify and manage project design dependencies and design decisions.

*Review and challenge the high level cost of proposed solutions ensuring cost covers all aspects of technical elements, infrastructure, work breakdown and resource cost.

*Chair and participate within a Design Authority function for various design deliverables and ensure collaborative agreement from Security, Service and Solution Delivery on proposed designs.

Key skills and experience required:

*Experienced in working across mixed vendor multi cloud environments

*Experienced of leading a Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) based on AWS best practices

*Experienced in the development and management of AWS and Azure environments

*Expert knowledge in designing highly available, large scale national solutions, with an appreciation for the whole solution Lifecycle to improve customer experience

*Excellent knowledge of emerging cloud technologies

*Expert in using enterprise/solution architecture tools and techniques

*Expert of architecture governance and design assurance processes

*Proven experience of project and programme delivery methodologies and how architecture integrates into such methodologies

*Demonstrated understanding of architecture deliverables through the project life cycle based on complexity and timeline of projects/programmes

*Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills with colleagues, partners / vendors & project sponsors

*Excellent written and verbal communications skills, ability to present to multi discipline teams and articulate technical subjects in a way that delivers understanding
