The Role:

As a network engineer you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills by providing the support needed towards the current network infrastructure of the company to ensure that all services are available to clients across all networking technologies. You will be working alongside the networks team, working within the ITIL framework to ensure any faults are prevented and corrected whilst ensuring the network is consistently running at optimal level.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for but not limited to:

* Supporting and maintaining the network infrastructure whilst focusing on the improving the efficiency of the network.

* Resolving any issues that may be escalated and documenting fault ticket requests.

* Proactively monitoring the network to ensure optimal network performance at all times and to maximise failure prevention.

* Identifying the cause of failure within the network and working up to a resolution.

* Communicating with the network manager effectively whilst working collaboratively with team members.

* Finding security vulnerabilities within the network infrastructure and to work with IT security to come to a solution.

* Covering on call or shift work when required.

Skills and Experience Required:

* Cisco switching and routing firewalls.

* CCNA and ITIL Qualified

* ASA firewalls, checkpoint firewalls, load balancing technology..

* CCNP level, ITILv3, Netscalers, LAN, WAN and routers protocols (all desirable not essential).

* Effective communication both written and verbal to team members and third party providers.

* Prior experience working in as a network engineer or in a similar role.

* Strong customer service skills

Benefits:

Starting salary of £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience plus a comprehensive company benefits package!
