You'll work as a Quality Engineer Chapter Lead. You'll be working in Scrum Team, but also be responsible for leading the Quality Engineering Chapter across Domestic Payments, developing and driving the strategy for both people and testing tools/processes. You should be able to demonstrate an understanding of software quality and to showcase methods used to measure key quality characteristics. You'll be conversant in Agile principles and be aware of the continuous nature, changing requirements and time limitations of working in this type of environment. You'll work in a highly collaborative way with business people and developers to reach successful outcomes.
About the role:
You'll collaborate with partners to advocate engineering and deliver business value through sound and fully rounded engineering methods and principles, ensuring platforms and software are built consistently with relevant patterns and practices.You'll support the engineering community by providing deep domain and technical expertise and providing a voice to engineers to identify and support the resolution of issues. You'll insure technical debt and releases are prioritised accordingly and continually develop yourself with industry standard methodology methods and tooling used across their engineering teams.

What we need from you:
Deep understanding of Behaviour Driven Development & Test Driven Development principles how these can be implemented.
Realise the importance of quality then build and implement approaches, guidelines, principles defined by yourself and your team.
Project and implement "Automation first" approach in every phase of software delivery process that aids speed to market and better quality, exploiting the latest tools (e.g. Selenium, Cucumber).
Define the Test Strategy for the Lab, whilst also being "hands on" with the team when required - writing automation Test scripts against user stories and maintaining Test traceability
Ensure that Testing is conducted in a way which is consistent with - and exploits the collective frameworks, patterns and standard methodologies that exist across the wider Test community
Lead and mentor the Testing Chapter within Domestic Payments, ensuring the appropriate development and mentoring is in place to make sure the Chapter is successful.
Be industry aware and understand the importance of new technical approaches to evolve solutions and the experience of the team.
Domain knowledge of UK payments an advantage, but not essential.
