Infrastructure Engineer (Trainee, Experience 2nd and 3rd line)
Salary £34,106 to £52,491 (depending on experience)
 Secretly we're just like you.
MI6 is the UK's foreign human intelligence agency. In our world, sophisticated technology and innovative techniques enable global covert operations. These strengthen our approach to gathering secret intelligence overseas. And our culture is where creativity, curiosity, insight and intuition are used to face ever-evolving challenges. To ensure we remain ahead of the game, we're looking for the country's brightest Infrastructure Engineers.
The role
Whether you're a trainee or an experienced system support engineer, you'll join a strong cooperative team that delivers crucial IT services that protect the UK. It's challenging work, requiring knowledge of a wide range of technologies including Citrix-based infrastructure, hypervisors, Windows Server 2012-2016, Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, Linux Infrastructure, and more.
About you
We're looking for a range of infrastructure engineers, from trainees to experienced candidates that have a comprehensive understanding of second and third-line support engineering. But no matter what stage you are at in your career, you'll get enough training to excel in your role. If you have experience with Windows Server, Citrix, virtualisation technologies (VMware or Hyper-V) it would be helpful, but a keen desire to become a technology specialist in this area is just as important.
To apply to MI6 you must be a born or naturalised British citizen, over 21 years old and normally have been based in the UK for six of the last ten years. You should not discuss your application with anyone other than your partner or a close family member providing that they are British. They should also be made aware of the importance of discretion.
MI6 strives for diversity in the workplace and is committed to the creation and maintenance of a climate in which all staff are treated fairly on the grounds of merit and ability.
