At HMGCC, our everyday involves designing and delivering communication systems that protect the country. It means we really push the limits to create custom one-offs, pioneering products and innovative ideas. Now, we're looking for a brilliant Server Engineer to continue supporting HM Government's communication systems, making them safe and reliable.
Joining the Server Team, you'll not only provide support and incorporation of ICT servers, but also play an integral part in keeping the UK safe. To do so, you'll deliver 2nd and 3rd line technical support. You'll help resolve incidents and problems across the business, helping with change programmes, upgrades and installing new systems. And beyond this, you'll spot emerging trends and help create tactical changes that'll improve the serves in the long-run. It's the care and attention to detail you'll bring that'll keep us running smoothly and, ultimately, protect the country.
To join us as a Server Engineer, we'll expect you to have:
Knowledge of IT environments including:
Active directory (domains and forests).
Group policy implementation and trouble shooting.
Enterprise-class server environments and virtualised ones too.
Experience integrating systems (such as COTS products into the existing environment).
Experience delivering customer service in a technical environment.
Knowledge of IT security technologies and principles.
Experience working with formal design and build documentation.
Experience evaluating, configuring, testing and deploying software.

Have experience administering MS Exchange and SAN storage.
