Linux Systems AdministratorWe have an opportunity for a Linux Systems Administrator to join a leading business based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. The role of the Linux Systems Administrator is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the company's highly-virtualised and predominantly Debian Linux infrastructure by responding to support tickets raised by the business' monitoring tools and undertake preventative maintenance and system checks.Working as a Linux Systems Administrator, your role will include:Management and resolution of support tickets by liaising with internal teams and clients.Identifying patterns in operational issues and devise solutions to eliminate root causes. Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders and technology owners to implement the solutions.Carrying out routine preventative maintenance tasks, system checks and regulatory duties to ensure infrastructure health.Creating and maintaining system documentation.Creating, maintaining and following processes in support of ISO27001, PCI-DSS and other industry standards.Participate in a 24/7 on call rota to provide response to critical client related incidents. To be considered for the Linux Systems Administrator position, you will need to demonstrate:Solid experience of administering and supporting Linux environments - Debian or CentOS is preferred; however all flavours are considered.Experience with VMware. AWS is also desirable.Familiarity with monitoring tools, such as Nagios, New Relic or Zabbix.Scripting skills and experience of automation i.e. Python, Bash, Shell, Puppet.Knowledge of MySQL and/or Postgres.Networking experience is also highly desirable.Linux Systems AdministratorLocation: Hemel Hempstead, HertfordshireSalary: £40k - £50k + benefits Apply for further details and immediate consideration.Understanding recruitment is acting as an agency on behalf of this vacancy.
