As a Senior Software Engineer your duties will include:

Combining your technical aptitude with a product-focused approach where the team discover what to build using analytics, experiments and customer feedback.
Building, and owning customer facing code, optimising the customer experience and contributing to the business’s performance.
Whilst technical ability is crucial to the role, you will demonstrate a solution driven attitude to tech and enthusiasm for teamwork, with a desire to improve coding standards and drive efficiency in the team.

To be a successful Senior Software Engineer you will have the following skills and experience:

Strong knowledge of server and client dynamic web development (using Java, Kotlin or equivalent JVM-based language).
Knowledge of the Spring Framework and knowledge of JavaScript and a front-end framework desirable (AngularJS, React or equivalent).
Understanding of JS-based build tool desirable (Gulp or equivalent).
Experience in using PHP with a framework (Laravel, Symfony or equivalent) an advantage.
RESTful Web Services.
Understanding of web markup (HTML5, CSS3) an understanding of CSS pre-processing (SASS).
Dependency management and build (Maven, Gradle, Composer or equivalent).
Source control (Git or equivalent).
SQL and relational databases.
Code quality tools (SonarQube or equivalent).
Microservices experience.
TDD, unit testing and mocking frameworks.
Experience in continuous integration/deployment (Jenkins or equivalent) and experience working in a SCRUM environment.
Set up, manage, and configure hosting environments.
Knowledge of SEO principles.
solid understanding of web development and to be comfortable talking about system design and architecture.

In return, the Senior Software Engineer will receive a salary of £60,000 - £70,000 per annum.
