Senior IT Support Engineer

Chesterfield

£27500 - £37500 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Support Engineer to join the helpdesk team of this well established and growing IT company based between Chesterfield and Sheffield. Attractive working conditions are provided plus staff kitchen and separate break-out area for lunch/socialising. Our client provides IT solutions and support to a varied customer base across the UK and their support team is central to the companys commitment to delivering highly professional and responsive services to clients. The multi-disciplinary helpdesk team provides desktop and server support to outsourced IT clients as well as to users of their vertical market applications for Business Centres and Tree Management.

Requirements:

Detailed understanding of Microsoft desktop and server operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Solid experience in providing high-quality remote support to users.

Strong troubleshooting and logical fault-finding skills.

Ability to provide leadership and technical guidance to less experienced members of the helpdesk team.

An understanding of the importance of documentation and procedures to delivering effective support along with the written communication skills necessary to contribute to the documentation of supported sites and systems.

Knowledge and understanding of VoIP Telephony.

Knowledge and experience of IP networking.

An understanding of software architecture and database applications.

The successful candidate will have a proactive attitude and an investigative mind, be enthusiastic, confident and have a desire to provide exceptional levels of customer service and have excellent time/ workload management skills. The successful candidate will also have strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for this customer facing role.

An attractive salary is offered, dependent upon qualifications and experience. Hours of work will be an 8 hour day between the hours of 8 am to 6 pm with a 45 minute paid lunch break. Our Engineers work on overlapping shifts to cover the Helpdesk operating hours of 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday. Occasional out-of-hours work is a requirement. A full driving licence is desirable.
