This company is a prestigious public sector department currently engaged in a major transformation project as part of the HM Government's Next Generation Shared Services Strategy. to replace its current ERP system with a "Software as a Service" offering.

You'll be working on needs analysis and relating what users need to existing content, identifying gaps and overlaps. You'll also need to work with colleagues in other parts of the organisation to help them meet user needs in their various areas of responsibility. This will involve deciding on the right formats to use as well as ensuring content is written to GDS style. The role is based in Croydon and is outside of IR35. Initial duration is 8 months. The role requires SC clearance that will be applied for the successful candidate by the client.

The majority of this bespoke content will be required for the CX Service Cloud system and encompassing components including a front end user interface and knowledge base. With a premise of turning user needs into relevant content, you'll need to

- Help with developing content plans and attend planning meetings with contacts

- Develop and apply content and format strategies with support from a senior content designer

- Develop and manage relationships - both within GDS and with other government departments

- Review content within existing intranet with a view to transforming and creating new content for the new Employee User Interface.

- Champion all things relevant to user experience (UX) and drive what those end to end user journeys on the project look like.

- Manage UX components of the project, (i.e. usability testing, user research and expert reviews) from brief to debrief.

- You will be expected to engage and collaborate with the profession of practice community leads.

- Manage and facilitate the approach to gathering relevant knowledge and guidance to support programme processes.

- Manage and facilitate the approach to amending Microsoft Excel macro enabled application forms to facilitate HR and Finance processes across the programme.

Essential skills:

- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

- Extensive experience of writing for the web, with proven ability to create content that is accessible, usable and meets GDS standards.

- Proven experience in using metrics and user feedback to define and improve content.

- Proven experience of managing relationships with stakeholders.

- Experience in working with content publishing systems

- Have a natural aptitude for technology, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and troubleshoot them independently.

- Eager to identify, define and implement new user research methodologies.

- Possess experience/knowledge of a range of UX research methods and deliverables.

Desirable attributes:

- Existing SC clearance.

- Experience of using Markdown or basic HTML.
