Hardware Engineer; (Embedded / Real time systems); Contract; 6 months; London. My Client, a leading Electronics provider, is looking for an experienced Hardware Engineer for an initial 6 month contract, based in London. You will be responsible for specification, design and completion of assigned electronics design tasks according to recognised best practice electronics design and to agreed cost, production engineering and test targets.

In addition, you will be required to:

-Assist Hardware Engineering Manager in the specifying and agreement of electronics design deliverables.

-Assist in the creation of work plans for input to schedules generated by the project management team

-Create / assist on the generation of product requirement specifications

-Create electronics schematics using internal software to offer required product functionality from assigned tasks

-Create PCB layouts and select appropriate electronic components to support assigned design tasks

-Support firmware development as appropriate

-Liaise with global suppliers, hardware, software and manufacturing engineering teams to introduce and integrate new technology.

-Work closely with the mechanical engineering team to achieve required radiated RF and EMC performance.

Knowledge and Skills required:

*Use of schematic layout SW

*Use of PCB layout software

*Use of electronics simulation for thermal and EMC characterisation

*Use of appropriate software tools to prototype, integrate and debug hardware

*IEEE embedded design

*Electronics circuit design, integration and test within a project environment
