Network Engineer | circa 80,000 + 7,200 Car Allowance | Nr Guildford | Office / Remote / Client Site
Jonothan Bosworth Recruitment Specialists are currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer / Network Consultant for what is a key client; a managed cloud, infrastructure and IT consultancy provider based in Surrey.
The ideal candidate will provide hands-on technical consultancy to both our client and their managed service customers; assisting with the defining and planning of technical strategy, standards and future services roadmap.
THE BASICS:
As Senior Network Consultant you will assist in the Pre-sales / Project & Service Management process as a technical subject matter expert (SME) in solution scoping, design and deployment, and support transition.
You will be responsible for reviewing and recommending new technologies to improve existing services or customer environments coupled with consulting with new and existing customers to deliver value added professional services such as capacity planning, security audits, performance optimisation, customer premise deployments and migrations.
As point of escalation for the operation teams you will also create comprehensive technical documentation (including standards) within core competency areas, for internal and external use and present written / verbal reports, including proposal creation, to internal and external stakeholders.
KEY SKILLS:
We are looking for Network Consultants with at least 2 years experience in a client facing technical consultancy role with solid experience of the following technical environments - data centre hosting, virtualisation, multi-vendor networking (Cisco/Juniper) authentication and security.
Technical Consultants should also hold significant experience of all aspects of complex physical and virtual networking infrastructure in a multi tenanted environment coupled with a hands-on, pro-active approach to consultancy and support assistance.
Network Consultants with experience configuring vPCs and related L2 connectivity coupled with knowledge of Cisco (IOS, XE, XR and NX-OS) & Juniper ASX, SRX should apply TODAY!
To be considered for the position you should also have understanding around QoS and CoS, IP telephony deployments, Datacentre Interconnects and WAN networks - IP and Ethernet WANs.
THE QUALIFICATIONS:
Our client is looking for individuals who are CCNP / JNCIP as a minimum requirement. Network Consultant with either CCIE, JNCIE, PRINCE 2 are likely result in an immediate interview request.
THE DESIRABLES:
Network Consultants with experience in a commercial IT Solutions provider or Managed Services environment will be highly sought after. Consultants with knowledge of SolarWinds will also be highly desirable.
