Senior ABAP Developer (12 month FTC)

London

£55,000 - £60,000 + perm benefits

A leading global organisation based in West London is currently recruiting for a Senior SAP ABAP Developer for a 12 month FTC to cover maternity. The Senior SAP ABAP Developer will be responsible to create, amend and extend bespoke ABAP functionality within the SAP system. The majority of the ABAP work will be connected with the SD module but will potentially involve all deployed SAP modules. Your will be working with numerous stakeholders to ensure a coordinated response to problems and pass on knowledge of the SAP applications to the user community.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

*To create/amend/extend ABAP programs, functions, search helps, dictionary objects.

*To create/amend/extend SAPScripts and Smartforms.

*To activate and develop SAP User exits / BADIs

*To apply SAP Notes/patches (both automatically and manually).

*To develop ABAP web-services for use by external systems

*To co-ordinate and assist with user testing of ABAP programs

*To administer transports through the BSI SAP landscape

*To field support calls relating to ABAP programs, user administration (password resets & new user creation) and roles.

*To monitor regular automated jobs.

*To lead small to medium size projects be they entirely SAP or SAP elements of larger projects.

*To assist with SAP upgrades

*To train colleagues in new technologies as they become experienced

*To learn and support other SAP modules

Knowledge

*Demonstrable SAP experience in ABAP (incorporating creation of BDCs, function modules, dialogue programming).

*Knowledge of data dictionary, search helps, SAP Script, Smart forms

*Excellent inter-personal skills

*Ability to function effectively in a matrix role

*Experience of creating and maintaining documentation (both external and in-line)

*Strong problem solving skills

*Desire to learn new skills

*Willingness to cross-train and assist in areas outside of experience.
