Role: Solaris System Administrator

ResponsibilitiesIn the function of Solaris specialist, you are responsible for maintaining our high end and critical Solaris servers. Primary Skill required is Solaris and secondary skill may be Linux / AIX. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced technician (m/f) who can work via processes but also has a flexible attitude to perform tailored services for our clients.

· Required to work in rotating shifts(24x7) and provide standby support if required

· Required to work on multi-OS platform if applicable

· Required to support multiple customersPerform L1, L2 activities and provide L3 support concerning complex incidents.

Mandatory skillsExpert on Solaris 9, 10 &11 system administration, installation and configuration.

· Expert on Solaris zones administration and trouble shooting.

· Expert on Sun Clusters/ VERITAS Clusters administration and configuration.

· Expert on Sun Hardware, SAN storage

· Expert on VERITAS volume manager and Solaris volume manager.

· Experience in writing Shell or Perl script.

· Expert on NIS/NFS, LDAP.

· Expert on Jumpstart installation/Trouble shooting.

· Strong concepts of networking like TCP / IP

· Expert on Zones and container.

· Expert on LDOMs.

· NIS, NFS and SAMBA administration

· Troubleshooting on issues belongs to virtual servers

· RAID and LVM Management

· DNS server Administration

· Apache/Tomcat Server Administration

· Printer Administration

· Expert on server console management

· Performance tuning and patch management

· Experience of client/server and enterprise environments

· Ability to structure and draft technical documentation

· ITIL Certified or a strong working knowledge of ITIL Incident, Problem and Change Management disciplines

· Customer relationship development and influencing skills

· Should be able to train junior team members

· SOLARIS certification

· Should have relevant experience in Solaris server management above 6 years

· Expert knowledge of Unix troubleshooting.Prior experience with International customers

The successful candidate will hold active SC clearance or be eligible and willing to undergo the relevant checks.
