**The successful candidate will hold or be willing to undergo SC Clearance** Role & responsibilities:Carries out AIX administration activities including Health checks, Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Query and Service Level Management activities;To deliver technical and process/procedural information in customer related projects, innovation projects, automation and improvement projects.Carries out planning and tracking of tasks, for the subordinates.Supervises and gives instruction to less experienced colleagues in all aspects of current and correct operational practice.Responds to enquiries and can deal effectively with a broad range of problems of moderate complexityTroubleshoot complex issues and drive to resolution (problem management), often together with suppliers.Assists in the analysis of incidents and problems to show trends and potential problem areas, so that action can be taken to minimize the occurrence of incidents and to improve the process of problem reporting, analysis and clearance.Obtains data to assist in the investigation and resolution of problems
Job specifications:In the function of AIX specialist, you are responsible for maintaining our high end and critical AIX servers. Primary Skill required is AIX and secondary skill may be Solaris or Linux. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced technician who can work via processes but also has a flexible attitude to perform tailored services for our clients.Required to work in rotating shifts(24x7) and provide standby support if requiredRequired to work on multi-OS platform if applicableRequired to support multiple customersPerform L1, L2 activities and provide L3 support concerning complex incidents.
Mandatory skills:
* Expert Level Unix System Engineer ; AIX
* Ability to code and script ; ksh (must have), PERL, bash
* Strong grasp of automation tools
* Understanding concepts of SOD and NetApp
* Strong knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routing, firewalls
* Experience with systems and IT operations
* Project planning and coordination experience (a plus)
* Excellent analytical and organizational skills
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Situation management and architectural skills - ability to act as main Tech Lead (a plus)
* Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
Hardware:
* IBM Power 5/6/7/8 (a plus), Bull Power 8 (a plus)
* EMC Storage
Software:
* IBM AIX (version 5.3/6.1/7.1), VIO and HMC (all a plus)
* Clustering tools such as IBM HACMP, PowerHA 6 (must have), PowerHA 7 (a plus), Bull ARF (a plus), MC Service Guard, Veritas
* Software install and automation tools such as NIM (must have) & BSA (a plus)
* Monitoring tools such as Nagios (a plus)
