Job Description The Internet Services Group is the fastest growing division of Arm, having the responsibility of building the core IoT related services and solutions. Our team in Glasgow and the ISG Security Group are looking for a Security Architect to join the local Connectivity Services team as a member of the ISG Security Group, as we build the software and infrastructure services needed to connect billions of new devices to the internet. Arm is known for low cost-efficient microprocessor designs, shipping in over 8.7 billion devices in just the last year. Connecting all those devices in an Internet of Things is one of the most important trends in technology. We're working across the whole stack, building a standards-based, efficient platform for our partners that solve three big problems: easy and secure interaction with IoT systems, driving value through connecting everything and making sure users get all the benefits of new data without giving up control or privacy. Solving these problems demands not just great systems engineering but great people. Working within the ISG Security Group, your responsibility will be for secure design and implementation of security features of various products across Arm, with special focus on Arm's IoT (Internet of Things) products and services. Your responsibilities will include: Taking part in all phases of Secure Development Life-cycle (SDL), including: secure design review, security requirements definition, and audits. Exploring and analysing the state of the art in both IoT and embedded security, on an ongoing basis. Constantly exploring the IoT Security and Embedded Security landscapes. Producing security advisories, when needed. Working in conjunction with both Product and Engineering teams, across Arm. Driving the delivery of secure solutions, working closely with our Infrastructure and Development teams Job Requirements What we are looking for: Computer science or electrical engineering background (academic, employment in the security industry, etc.) Significant information security engineering experience. Autonomous research capabilities, and ability to autonomously analyze technical materials. A proven history of securing complex global networks Platform experience in heterogeneous Unix & Linux environments Experience securing database environments, specifically based on MySQL & MariaDB Comprehensive understanding of Web application security, specifically written in PHP, JavaScript or TypeScript A detailed understanding of the unique security concerns of containerised deployments Proficiency in writing in English (comparable to that of a technical writer). Strong interpersonal skills. MSc or PhD desired. About the office Our Arm Glasgow office is home to teams from our Cloud Services division in our IoT Services Group (ISG).
