My client is a fast growing and dynamic company engaged in the design, manufacture of high technology material characterisation instrumentation used in a variety of industry sectors, including Pharmaceutical, Industrial and Polymers.

Their instrumentation is used from research through to the production arena and assists customers in deriving competitive advantage through improved product performance and faster time to market.

Due to their continued growth, we have the requirement for an Electronics Engineer to join the Sustaining and Improvements team who will work collaboratively to improve and maintain electronic designs due to discontinued components, or through identified design improvements to improve functionality, yield, cost, or in response to customer feedback.

You will maintain designs and drawings (Schematic, wiring, assembly, BOMs, ATE specifications etc.), in accordance with company and international standards; Play a key role in solving problems as they relate to electronic engineering issues, working closely with other technical specialists as necessary.

Improve electronic and cable designs to aid manufacturability and serviceability; Identify and implement cost reductions; Produce safe, compliant and robust designs, by understanding the intent of existing designs and critical to quality functional elements; Carry out experiments and /or perform design calculations to predict, measure and validate instrument performance with respect to mechanical, particulate and other parameters; Perform activities such as brainstorming, concept selection, DFMA and FMEA.

Additionally, you will also act as the interface between the Research and Development team and the Manufacturing team during the release of new products.

This role would really suit an up and coming electronics engineering enthusiast with a keen eye for problem-solving solutions. An engineering brain with no fear of bringing new ideas to the table and displaying excellent communication skills.

In order to carry out this role the ideal candidates will be skilled in:
-Strong Electronic Engineering knowledge
-Good Digital and Analogue circuit design knowledge
-Design of micro-controller and DSP based instrumentation and control electronics, including sensor interfaces, dc-dc regulators, and small actuator drives.
-Good knowledge of Schematic Capture and PCB design tools (Altium)
-Diagnosing/Fault-Finding
-Knowledge of SPICE and SI simulation tools
-Strong Documentation skills
-Design for manufacture, assembly and test
-Knowledge of standards: RoHS, LVD, EMC and IPC
