Spring technology are happy to be working alongside a leading solutions provider in the education sector as we help recruit a group infrastructure manger.

The Group Infrastructure Manager role act as interface within the group and regions/countries/schools designing the Architecture using appropriate technology under cost/benefit perspectives, guidelines, technology standards and architecture principles.

The purpose is the creation, updating and development of a target system landscape for the group based on architecture principles via a roadmap following the group IT landscape strategy.

The Group Infrastructure Manager cooperates in projects and monitoring services relating to the infrastructure and applications.

In the context of the IT Operating Model and Group IT guidelines, the Group Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the following activities:

-Cooperation with Region/Countries/Schools areas directly providing Technical advice during demand identification, qualification and solution identification

-Active advice on consolidating infrastructure systems at the Group/country level

-Set and manage stakeholder expectations, communicate effectively with stakeholders to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions

-Monitoring the infrastructure technology in use

-Manage suppliers and identify synergies in order to homogenize the service and supplier landscape

-Consult and support local and regional IT Managers regarding service and supplier selection

-Review, lead and supervise group IT services (infrastructure)

-Steer local IT service delivery via defined Service Level Agreements, OLAs, external contracts with suppliers and operational KPIs

-Ensure a high level of service according to ITIL best practices (staff, skills, processes, methods and tools) is delivered to the business

The successful candidate will have-

*Experience being a lead or senior figure.

*Great IT Infrastructure experience using (Networks, LAN, WAN, Wireless, VPN, Cisco routers, Firewalls, Internet services, MS servers and desktops, cloud technologies, Web servers management)

*Experience providing high level IT support- configuring, troubleshooting and resolving issues, identify cost saving opportunities.

*Exposure of working within a project management or service delivery function will also be an advantage

*Experience using cloud services (O365, Azure, AWS, Google).

*Willing to travel internationally

*Experience leading group projects and supervise countries IT infrastructure projects leading the responsible project manager, ensuring that the project targets are delivered on time, in scope and budget.

*Define and initiate evaluations, programs or projects to implement the strategy defined at group level.

*Review, manage and challenge/optimize the countries IT budget

*Experience reviewing and challenge the monthly reporting (plan & actual).

*Good communication with non-IT people

This is NOT a 9 to 5 job. Candidates are expected to provide flexibility to accommodate business requirements which may include working during weekends and bank holidays.
