Demand for Britain's railways has doubled over the past 20 years and that growth is set to continue. To keep up with the increasing dependence on the rail network, we've got a major plan to upgrade the Transpennine Route between York and Manchester through Leeds and Huddersfield over the next five years by introducing more trains, more seats and making journeys quicker. The programme will help deliver a railway that will enable growth and prosperity for communities and economies across the Pennines, as well as create a railway upon which passengers and businesses across the north can depend.

We're looking for an Associate Sponsor to shadow the management and development of this major enhancement project with enthusiasm and dedication. Scrutiny of tax-payer funded rail schemes is quite rightly high, so it's critical that projects are delivered within scope, cost and time. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your commercial intuition to one of Network Rail's most ambitious projects.

Your team will create solutions that maintain the "business as usual" accessibility for our customers. That's why excelling every day is a must. So you'll use your commercial intuition and persuasive nature to guide you. As well as this, you'll use your negotiating and influencing skills to achieve results that optimise client requirements, value for money and capacity for future development.

With your clear communication skills, you'll be able to write coherent reports and communicate with anyone. It's an essential skill as you'll deal with people at all levels and build relationships with them. Join now and develop one of Network Rail's most ambitious projects.
