Job: Digital Product Designer
Location: Oxford
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
My client an electricity generation and electricity retailing company is looking for a talented Digital Product Designer with a couple years of experience to join their team. The individual must be passionate about sketching wire frames and interface solutions as well as crafting pixel perfect UI designs and will work closely with the Head of Product, technology and data teams. Currently building a product within the renewable energy sector, It will involve in-home hardware, data visualisation, real time data monitoring, user notifications and a conversational UI built in React Native.
You will be experienced in creating compelling UX/UI to work on mobile app developments written using frameworks such as React & React native, bringing your experience of design for Android, IOS and browser. You will have a great eye for graphic design and a solid understanding of the principles of effective screen layout.
Requirements
User Experience Skills: You translate a human-centred design philosophy into simple and
elegant experiences, and can bring to life wireframes, prototypes and flows.
Visual Design Skills: You can take the existing brand language and create beautiful UI
designs. You're fluent in visual design tools, such as Sketch, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Prototyping skills: You feel comfortable using prototyping tools to convey movement and
functionality of concepts such as Principle, AfterEffects or Invision.
Collaboration Skills: You're a team player and love to collaborate. Your cross-discipline
knowledge of technology and user experience inspires the team and ensures a smooth
process from concept to delivery.
Communication Skills: You have strong verbal, written and visual presentation skills. You
can clearly articulate the thinking behind your design decisions and articulate the value of
your decisions within the business and brand context.

*Inspiring, articulate and communicative in your ability to champion decisions and carry forward compelling user experience design
*Experience working through ideation sessions, user testing and wire-framing exercises
*Innovative in working with product owners and other stakeholders to enhance the user experience and develop new product ideas
*Strategies for handling, versioning and disseminating assets and designs throughout the project lifecycle.
*HTML5, ES6 javascript, CSS
*Styled components, sass, BEM
Ideally
*Delight in getting hands dirty from time to time, reviewing, and even developing the occasional UI code
*Familiarity with current mobile and web app development frameworks such as React & React Native
*Comfortable working on a day-to-day basis with full stack developers to pass over and implement design
Desirable
*React Native and its ecosystem
