We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer to join a market-leading blue-chip at their Head Office in Peterborough. The primary goal of the Senior Network Engineer is to ensure the company's Cisco-based network runs effectively and to be the SME for all network-related queries and issues.

The successful Senior Network Engineer will be the go-to person for questions and queries and therefore you must be comfortable troubleshooting networking, routing and inter-connectivity problems, including troubleshooting of network device hardware failures. The Senior Network Engineer will also be responsible for identifying and fixing recurring platform problems whilst collaborating with project teams and colleagues to look for continuous service and network improvements.

The role of Senior Network Engineer will involve:

* Providing support for all network queries and being the SME for network tech, covering switches, routers, firewalls and wireless.

* Contributing to the design and architecture of the business-wide network.

* Suggesting, implementing and supporting configuration changes.

* Planning and completing system upgrades.

* Pro-active capacity planning.

* Provide training and support to users across the business.

* Participating in the 24/7 call-out rota.

Skills and experience required for the Senior Network Engineer:

* Strong experience with Cisco networking technologies - switches, routers, firewalls & wireless.

* Proven knowledge of network security principles.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently deal with stakeholders at all levels.
