'€¢Perform an extensive range and variety of complex technical and/or professional work activities in a variety of contexts.  This includes but is not limited to:

'€¢Bug fixes'€¢Small features'€¢Unit tests/test scripts/automated testing'€¢Large features'€¢Code-reviews'€¢Documentation'€¢Releases'€¢Complex features'€¢System architecture.

'€¢Heavily contribute to the code base (This is a 100% hands-on coding role)'€¢Contribute to the evolution of our coding standards plus the build and deploy processes for your chosen technology eco-system'€¢Identify and pro-actively suggest improvements to the codebase (refactoring)'€¢Promote good software engineering practices (e.g. creating high unit test coverage, defensive/performant and secure code, zero defect software, big O notation etc)'€¢Pro-actively seek out what's going on in the technology industry and promote a culture of continuous learning'€¢Fully own your software stack by participating in implementation and post-implementation activities'€¢Work under general direction, using discretion in identifying and resolving complex problems and assignments'€¢Absorb new technical information and apply it effectively'€¢Contribute to technical documentation ensuring it is produced and maintained'€¢Provide technical/application support as required (which may be out of hours)'€¢Write clear, maintainable code that will scale across a number of projects and distributed development teams.

Skills required:

'€¢Strong Excel/VBA skills in both Excel formulas/functionality and VBA - V-lookups, pivot tables, dictionaries, collections, error handling, etc. Some exposure to SQL and ADODB would be beneficial as would experience of customising the ribbon.'€¢Proven experience of developing test scripts/automated tests for Excel workbooks would be advantageous.'€¢Strong exposure to code management systems (GitHub) and coding standards.'€¢Develop and implement data collection systems and other techniques that optimise statistical efficiencies and uphold data quality.'€¢Strong knowledge of MS Office client apps, SharePoint online'€¢Exposure to MS Azure, C#, Azure Logic Apps, Azure PaaS, Azure SQL etc
