The work location is in LONDON and is a 6 Months contract.
Pay rate is between £300 - £350 PD.
The role is working for a well established, multi-national retailer and specialises in clothing, home and luxury product.
Description
You will be supporting by exploiting our data to optimise performance and information accessibility through analytics. Working alongside a team of likeminded analysts, you will implement analytical techniques in a demanding and fast paced commercial environment. With an intuitive grasp of numbers, you will be passionate about driving innovative thinking.
Key Skills:
* Exceptional problem solving, analytical and numerical skills.
* Experience visualising data and presenting analytics.
* Knowledge of manipulating and transforming data sets and applying analytical methodologies.
* Ability to interact with the business to understand their needs and interpret how they could be fulfilled using the available data.
* Advanced MS Office skills (e.g. MS Excel, MS Access, Power functions, VBA, Power Point).
* Experience with the following or similar applications is preferable: Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects, Relational Databases.
* Enthusiasm and desire to learn new tools and techniques.
* Knowledge of data-orientated or programming languages would be beneficial (e.g. SQL, R, Python).
* Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work in a team or as individual.
Advantageous:
* Exposure to Big Data environments such as Hadoop Impala / Hive.
* Working knowledge of a Retail or FMCG organisation.
* Knowledge of Food Supply Chain & Logistics systems and processes.
* Experience working in a fast paced and effective Analytics or Insight functions.
Accountabilities:
* Provide data driven insight to understand the root cause of performance issues and develop ongoing analytical solutions.
* Develop and prepare reports and insight for stakeholders to monitor performance, as well as presenting and illustrating findings to ensure key learnings are understood.
* Work closely with stakeholders to fully understand requirements and provide collaborative solutions based on a commercial and analytical understanding.
* Become an advocate for creating a data driven business by illustrating the power of analytics.
* Work collaboratively with the other analysts in the team to create a thriving analytics environment where knowledge and ideas are shared.
