Successful and expanding medium sized financial institution is undergoing an Agile transformation across development and support of a multi-year, multi-million pound programme of applications deliverables. As Scrum Master, you will be managing multiple medium sized teams and providing Agile coaching and guidance to people across IT and the business, developing and adjusting a project plan and working with both the business and IT to deliver customer facing solutions. They are looking for someone from a technical ie Development background rather than Business Analysis background.
The primary focus is getting SCRUM fully and pragmatically adopted across the organisation before progressing to SAFe, Kanban and more advanced aspects of Agile.
You will need solid experience of driving teams (mainly on-shore but with some offshore) in an Agile environment as a Scrum Master and preferably having worked with a company transitioning from Waterfall to Agile, as although much of the development work is already being carried out in using Agile methods, the role will still demand excellent Agile knowledge and communication skills to produce a consistent approach to delivery across application development. Specific Scrum, Kanban and XP knowledge are useful but most important is a practical understanding of how best to get teams working the right way, utilising Agile for greater productivity.
This is a consistently profitable, growing firm, where you will be helping shape the way both the business and technology work. Experience banking and finance are not essential but knowledge of and certainly an interest in learning are crucial, as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. You will work with small, enthusiastic teams who are embracing change and progress, where you will providing mentoring and to a more rewarding way of working.
