Power BI Developer

Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a Power BI Developer for an initial 2 month period based in Edinburgh on a rate of £500-600/day (inside of IR35).

Responsibilities:

* Designing an efficient data model in Power BI.

* Writing measures in DAX including applying data suppression rules, calculating ranks, percentages and comparing data at different levels of granularity.

* Creating custom columns.

* Documenting the data model.

* Ensuring the data model is future proofed for later updates.

* Designing a user friendly reporting layer.

* Creating visualisations that show trend data and detailed data at different levels of granularity that can be interpreted by users with varying levels of data literacy.

* Testing reports with users.

Requirements:

* Significant experience of developing user friendly reports in Power BI.

* An understanding of developing efficient data models.

* Ability to write code in DAX and M.

* Experience of selecting appropriate visualisations for different types of data and questions.

* Ability to work with end users to user test reports.

* Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a wide range of staff in a rapidly changing environment are essential.

* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Desirable Skills:

* Experience of working with SAP Business Objects.

* Experience of working within public sector institutions.
