Global Fintech Company currently seeks a Junior Systems Administrator / Junior DevOps Engineer to join a team and commercialise their knowledge into experience which will assist with the build and configuration of development and production environments within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Computing Services environment.
The Junior Systems Administrator / Junior DevOps Engineer will work alongside a senior engineer and assist with the build, configuration, installation and deployment of new environments using scripts that you create yourself to automate processes. You will assist with code deployments and full software application releases and create documentation as required. You will also be responsible for Linux Systems Administration, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Management processes.
Using a range of tools at your disposal you will build Linux environments on Ubuntu or CentOS/RedHat and use of a mix of Puppet, Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform to automate scaled server deployments. Configuration of Nginx and Apache Tomcat web servers and installation of new development environments will also form part of the DevOps role. There will be a number of Sys Admin tasks undertaken for production environments including patch management. All of these activities will be undertaken with support from Senior Systems Administrators / DevOps Engineers. We are searching for a Junior Systems Administrator / Junior DevOps Engineer / Junior Linux Sys Admin. No commercial experience is required but you will have knowledge and understanding of Linux (ideally Ubuntu and CentOS) and be able to build Linux environments using scripting skills such as Bash, Python Ruby, Java or similar. You may have graduated recently or be a self-taught Linux Sys Admin and be managing either academic or personal Linux environments. You may run gaming forums or similar and be keen to commercialise your experience and become a DevOps engineer. You will also have gained experience configuring web servers and will have done so as a minimum using C-Panel with Apache but ideally will have gained some command line experience with Nginx.
