The Scottish Qualifications Authority is Scotland's national awarding and accreditation body. We are trusted to oversee thousands of qualifications that are available in schools, colleges and workplaces, not just in this country, but around the world.

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to work within the Service Delivery team.

The ideal candidate will be an expert in Unix/Linux and Monitoring. You will have a collaborative approach to how you work with your stakeholders and the ability to work on multiple projects at any one time. In order to do this you must be able to demonstrate experience in the following:

Systems including Commvault backup solution, Zabbix monitoring tool, SQL, Oracle, Ingres database, Apache, tomcat, IIS, Office 365, Azure, Lotus Notes, SAP, Cisco firewall (firepower) Cisco UCS 5108 , Cisco nexus 93180 switches, Cisco Catalyst 9300/9500 switches and Scripting (Powershell, Bash, Ruby, Python)

The creation, maintenance and adoption of relevant IT policies, processes and control frameworks

Using proactive monitoring techniques and implementing root cause analysis as part of your process

ITIL, CCNP, MCSE, VCP and NetApp Certified

Evidence of active risk management including cyber security.

Excellent technical documentation, coaching and knowledge transfer skills

Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF Level 8 (HND or SVQ4) and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role.
