Do you have a passion for bringing engaging and rigorous online instruction to learners? Are you keen to embrace the huge possibilities of eLearning in a rapidly changing educational landscape? And could you personally lead the development of some of the most innovative eLearning courses and content in the UK apprenticeship training sector?

Then join JTL and we can promise you a role of exceptional variety and influence.

As our Senior eLearning Developer, you will work closely with Curriculum Managers, Project Managers and Subject Matter Experts to scope, design and create effective eLearning materials. We're not just talking about high quality video and audio productions. You could be involved in developing anything from interactive whiteboards and mobile apps to branded eLearning templates such as quizzes and assessments.

Coordinating workloads and managing external agencies and contractors will, of course, be important aspects of your role. But you will also contribute at a strategic level, using your expertise to help plan an annual programme of eLearning resources to support our apprenticeship programmes and the provision of commercial short courses. And in addition to managing a budget, you will actively solicit feedback to drive continuous improvement in everything we do.

Along with a love of interactive learning and learning technologies, you will need experience of uploading and managing content on a Learning Management System or within Virtual Learning Environment. Proficiency in the use of Articulate Storyline or another rapid authoring tool such as Captivate is essential. You must also know how to edit audio and video digital content and create SCORM content. In addition, you will be a strong team player who combines initiative and attention to detail with a clear focus on quality and the confidence to lead projects from the front.

Essential Requirements

Educated to degree level or equivalent.

Minimum of 5 GCSE or equivalent, (grades A*-C), including both English and mathematics.

Passionate about interactive learning and all learning technologies.

Good attention to detail and a focus on quality.

Good team worker; enjoys working within multi-disciplinary teams and with external parties.

Ability to act on self-initiative and lead on projects.

Demonstrable proficiency in the use of Articulate Storyline or other rapid authoring tools e.g. Captivate.

Experience of uploading and managing content onto Learning Management Systems or Virtual Learning Environment.

Excellent written communication skills.

Desirable

Experience of developing eLearning content within education sector.

In return, we can promise you an attractive salary, benefits including a pension and life insurance, ongoing professional development and tremendous control over your own schedule.

We welcome applicants from all sections of the community. JTL is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all its employees to share this commitment in conjunction with the requirements of the Prevent Duty and the positive promotion of modern British values.
