Our IT Capacity Management Tools team have the responsibility for providing the support to processes and reporting for critical business and IT components.

Understanding current and future forecasts of IT capacity is a fundamental discipline for Service Assurance, avoiding incidents that can ultimately lead to system outages.

Joining us as a Senior Technical Specialist you'd join the team specifically focussing on the support and development of the Enterprise Capacity Management Information System within Service Management Systems Operations, underpinned by the BMC TrueSight tool.

Could you help make it possible?

We're preferably looking for a seasoned technician with a demonstrative track record of working within Capacity Management but specifically with the technical knowledge of administering Capacity Management Toolsets.

What would you be doing?

* You'd be instrumental to the improvement of services and processes and the mitigation of risks associated with the CMT toolsets and data integrations.
* You'll offer technical consultations on major Systems Management Services projects and input into SOX process and risk process/remediation
* You'll have responsibility for the evaluation and promotion of new and existing software and toolsets
* We'd see you input to strategy planning and driving the Capacity Tools roadmap
* You'd maintain the relationship with our vendor and the support they provide
* You'd ensure the effective integration of developments with the IT build processes
* You'll act as the liaison point into the Engineering & Transformation Team for Capacity Management technologies and get to entor and develop junior team members
* You'll lead the delivery and technical support of the product, its data integrations and ensure that the service meets agreed standards for the environment.
* You'd work closely with technical platform teams and transformation teams to support the service.
* Finally you'd provide senior technical support on a standard hours, callout/standby arrangement based on the needs of the Business.

And what about you?

Ideally you'd possess:

* An in depth knowledge of Capacity Management, both tools and processes, with experience in trend analysis and problem identification.
* Broad technical skills to enable integration and data extracts from various sources into a centralised repository.
* Comprehensive experience of incident and problem resolution, application portfolio maintenance and wider industry products and practice.
* A working knowledge of BMC TrueSight would be extremely useful.
* A deep understanding of many Enterprise Systems Management hardware and software, supporting key services with awareness of technologies and tools additionally covering Monitoring & Alerting, Service Management, Scheduling and other supporting products.
* Experience of Evaluation, Solution & Design for IT infrastructure and its management.

However, whilst Capacity Management toolset knowledge is very desirable, if you can demonstrate deep technical skills in centralising data with appropriate integrations and automated processes on your CV then we'd also consider your application.
