Due to continued growth and development, Barry Bennett Ltd are now looking to recruit a Web Developer to join our expanding IT department. We are an Assistive Technology Service Provider. Looking for a role where you can hit the ground running and be part of a collaborative team then I have the role for you!
The ideal candidate will have a fair amount of industry knowledge and display a wide cross-section of skill sets including but not limited to the below:
Excellent experience of PHP development, version 5+, focus on OOP (Object Oriented Programming)
MVC (Model View Controller) frameworks, CodeIgniter, Laravel
JavaScript, multi-browser, with focus on Firefox/Chrome, compatibility
XML, creating, extracting data and manipulation, XSLT
jQuery + JQueryUI, Angular JS a plus
CSS, similar to JS requirement
JSON
Good understanding of Software design and architecture
Demonstrable experience in using Responsive HTML/CSS and JavaScript
Tools: SVN / GIT, JIRA
Solid experience with MySQL queries
Good knowledge of design patterns and SOA
Exploring new ideas, technology and solutions and how they can be implemented in our existing services.
Contributing to the planning and management of development projects
Good communication skills, transparent working practices and can explain design/concepts when asked
Confident and capable of accepting responsibility for their design and work

Innovative creative and well-defined solutions to complex problems
Role Responsibilities:
Review current code, write new code
Develop new product features, fix bugs, and optimize code performance and quality
Communication with IT Manager, Project team members to understand and further develop requirements
The candidate should be eager to learn, intelligent and technically astute PHP Developer with a minimum of 2 years' OOP experience. You must be a team player and possess good communication and interpersonal skills. You'll have the chance to showcase your abilities to get involved with all aspects of the development process.
Working within this fast-paced and pressurised team, the ideal candidate will be goal orientated and will understand the importance of meeting deadlines and have the ability to work alone whilst complimenting a highly skilled distributed / team.
