Lead critical transformation.
Create a world-class regulator.
The challenge
A fast-evolving public corporation, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is committed to shaping the future of regulation in the UK nuclear industry. To perform at our very best, we need Senior Project Managers to make improvement happen through all kinds of exciting transformation projects.
The role
With solid motivation and a breadth of experience, you'll be ready to lead major projects from concept to implementation. They could focus on anything from digital or structures to people or regulation - with an ever-growing portfolio, there's tremendous scope and variety.
Whatever the project, you'll design it and take it through to delivery, shaping change initiatives so we can achieve our business strategies. At the same time, you'll look to optimise benefits across projects, delivering results that meet cost, deadlines and quality standards. Able to manage risks, expectations and conflicting stakeholder requirements, you'll bring impeccable organisation and excellent people skills.
As you'll be joining our PMO in a senior role, you'll have responsibility for matrix managing team members and leading by example. We'll look to you to shape and improve our PMO, making your mark right from day one.
The person
Having led multiple transformation projects before, you'll have proven expertise. You apply initiative and resilience to overcome obstacles, driving momentum and delivery. You can also draw on knowledge of the public sector and strong commercial acumen, while well-honed communication skills help you to make teamwork happen. Add analytical thinking and the ability to track budgets, and you're ready for a leading role within our dynamic project team.
To play your part in ONR's progress, a current project management qualification, such as Prince 2 Practitioner, Agile, MSP, or equivalent, will be essential.
The rewards
We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with these roles attracting a salary of £49,946 to £57,199. In addition, up to £15,000 relocation may be available. Furthermore, you'll be eligible for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits). Plus, you'll receive a very generous holiday entitlement.
About us
ONR is a Public Corporation created to ensure the highest standards of safety and security across all of the UK's licensed nuclear sites. Our inspectors are drawn from all manner of professional backgrounds including civil engineering, radiological protection, human factors, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and nuclear physics.
