Location: Hampton Court Palace, London

Salary: Circa £42,000 per annum

Job type: Full time, Permanent (36 hours per week)

The organisation is an independent, charity responsible for the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House - Whitehall, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle. They help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society in some of the greatest palaces ever built.

Role Overview:

They are seeking to appoint a Network Services Engineer to provide and continually develop the IS network infrastructure across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to provide leading edge network technology and help deliver vital new technical services in some of the greatest palaces ever built.

The role is responsible for the support and administration of HRP's Windows platform, encompassing over 200 physical servers and assisting with the Azure Cloud Migration. Responsibilities include the investigation and recommendation of purchases of key software and hardware while providing effective advisory guidance to all customers, so as to ensure best practice. The role will be a mix of both project and support work and you will be involved in many of the key technology changes and updates planned for the years ahead.

The Candidate:

Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience of providing high level 3rd line networking technical support and project delivery in a Microsoft Windows environment. Detailed knowledge of Windows Server 2003/8R2, TCP/IP networking, switch configuration, network management and structured cabling is required. Knowledge and experience with Citrix XenApp or MS Exchange 2010 would be beneficial, although not essential.

Educated to an A-Level or degree level standard - preferably IT related - the ideal candidate will be proactive, diplomatic and have strong communication and organisational skills which are essential in achieving results in this busy and demanding environment. To be successful you must have proven experience working in a senior network support role. The position will require weekend working from time to time in order to provide support and maintenance during key events or project delivery requirements.
