Systems Administrator / DevOps Engineer / Linux Sys Admin - Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS), AWS, Puppet, Shell Scripting, Apache, Nginx. Permanent, London, 65k - 75k +Benefits. Global Insurance Company currently seeks a Systems Administrator / DevOps Engineer to be primarily responsible for build and configuration of development and production environments within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Computing Services environment.

The Systems Administrator / DevOps Engineer will work within a team and assist with the build, configuration, installation and deployment of new environments using scripts that you create yourself to automate processes.

You will manage code deployments and full software application releases and create documentation as required.

You will also be responsible for DR and Business Continuity Management processes. Using a range of tools at your disposal you will build Linux environments on Ubuntu or CentOS and use Puppet to automate scaled deployments. Configuration of Apache and Nginx web servers and installation of MySQL databases for new development environments will also form part of the DevOps role.

There will be a number of Sys Admin tasks undertaken for production environments including patch management. We are searching for a Systems Administrator / DevOps Engineer / Linux Sys Admin / AWS Infrastructure Engineer who has ideally gained significant experience within large-scale enterprise environments in both a DevOps and Sys Admin capacity.

You will be comfortable building Linux environments with Ubuntu and/or CentOS and have solid shell scripting abilities for both code and application deployments and server management in production.

You will have worked with Nginx web servers and be comfortable configuring and troubleshooting issues as required.

A solid understanding of TCP/IP protocols and networking principles will be required. Experience with Puppet would be desirable as would experience gained with Ruby or Clojure (in relation to this tool).
