For the biggest E-Commerce platform of the Benelux, based in Amsterdam, I am looking for both a Medior and a Senior Back End Engineer with experience as a Scala and/or Java engineer with a focus on data or backend engineering.

Medior Backend Engineer

Your tasks and responsibilities:

* Contribute to the team's work with high-quality, well-tested and scalable code

* Collaborate with other team members and engineers

* Ensure code quality and maintainability

Your profile:

* Several years of experience as a Scala or Java engineer with a focus on data or backend engineering

* Good knowledge of Java, Scala and Kafka in a stream processing environment

* Passion for agile software development, product discovery and continuous deployment

* High aspiration for quality balanced with a good sense of pragmatism

Senior Backend Engineer

Your tasks and responsibilities:

* Contribute to the team's work with high-quality, well-tested and scalable code

* Coach and mentor junior members of your team

* Improve agile development and continuous delivery process

* Ensure code quality and maintainability by evolving architecture and tech stack, code reviews, refactoring, standards and improving build and test systems

Your profile:

* Several years of experience as a senior/lead engineer and/or system architect with a focus on data or backend engineering

* Deep knowledge of Java, Scala and Kafka in a stream processing environment

* Advanced understanding of design, implementation and operation of distributed services and APIs

* Passion for agile software development, product discovery and continuous deployment

* High aspiration for quality balanced with a good sense of pragmatism

* Independently and quick adoption of new technologies and concepts
