As User Researcher, you'll work alongside policy, delivery and digital civil servants, as well as external experts, on research into the needs of people whose jobs are at risk from technology. As well as focusing on the technical aspects of the Scheme, you'll also develop a deep understanding of the big picture nationally, and gather research and evidence that shapes the service and its delivery.

This will call for a wealth of research experience using a range of methods to suit different life cycle phases and situations. It's a complex challenge, taking into account the diversity of users, different types of skills that will be included in the Scheme and the variety of design practices we'll use to deliver it. Then, you'll turn that data into clear findings that inform decisions. More broadly, you'll be one of our in-house experts. So it's vital that you're a genuine authority on technology's power in society, and have the strategic mind to shape our thinking around the issue and the way we change behaviours.
