Role: Senior IT Engineer

Position: Permanent

Location: Stockport

Salary: £38,000

A great opportunity has risen in the Stockport area for an Senior IT Engineer to join an exciting financial company.

My client requires a Senior IT Engineer to join the IT function to be responsible for coaching and mentoring 1st and 2nd line engineers. As a successful IT Engineer you will work closely with 1st and 2nd line teams to identify and drive continual improvement.

This role is 70% 2nd line support and 30% team leading. Experience within both is essential.

Job Responsibilities:

* Work with 3rd line engineers to assist with application releases.

* Ensure that knowledge articles are accurate.

* Produce and maintain quality guides, policy, process and procedure documentation.

* Identify and drive change initiatives / opportunities for improvement.

* Manage more complex incidents and service requests, escalated from 2nd line.

* Manage role based access control requests across the group.

Experience:

* Proven track record of undertaking effective; incident, request and problem management.

* Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, RDP, AD, MS Exchange, Hyper V, VMware, PowerShell

* Strong understanding of WAN and LAN Networking.

* Strong working knowledge of System Centre 2012 including operations and virtual machine manager.

* Experience in building and maintain development environments.

* ITIL experience.
