Lead Electronics role - Oxford

You have the chance to be part of an exciting, ambitious and innovative company which is a key client based in the Oxford area. You'll be working primarily on ground breaking and innovative products that have never been implemented before on today's market.

The product you will mainly be working on is a high quality detection system that is brand new to the market and will disrupt it completely as it has never been implemented into a product. If you're interested in getting involved with this brand new project, this is the opportunity for you.

The role itself is a Lead Electronics Engineer, you will have a key position in the company as our client is in the early stages of this new technology and are looking to disrupt the current market it's in and they require and ambitious and energetic Electronic Engineer. Your main responsibilities will be to manage this new and exciting project, whilst also updating and continuously improving the existing product range.

Knowledge:

Please note that we do not expect you to possess all of the skills/experience. We are predominantly looking for someone with the enthusiasm to learn and progress.

* Analogue and digital circuit design

* Embedded processor design & firmware

* Thorough understanding of EMC/EMI concepts

* Object detection using mm Wave radar techniques

* Time of Flight techniques

* Linear and switched mode power supply design

* IR Optical components (LEDs & photodiodes)

* Mains switching circuit design

* Manufacturing assembly techniques and processes

* Good understanding of electrical/mechanical components

Experience:

* R&D experience including existing and new product design, development and implementation.

* Proven track record of product implementation from concept to volume production (In-house and out-sourced)

* Product testing at EMC test houses

* PCB layout experience (up to 4 layers), including design to meet EMC requirements

* Experience in using a major schematic/PCB CAD package (preferably CadStar), including library component generation and control.

* Working to international standards (EMC, UL, ASME, etc.)

* Quality and design management processes

* BOM generation and maintenance

* Safety and reliability analysis, including FMEA

* Circuit tolerance and stress analysis

Skills:

1 Electronic prototyping skills

2 Soldering and wiring skills

3 Electronic circuit testing and 'bring-up' skills

4 Embedded microcontroller code generation
