Our client is in need of a data engineer to build and maintain the data flows and data acquisition service. Your understanding of code will allow continuous delivery of product applications. Travel is required to work on different projects as well as internal developments in HQ.

Key Responsibilities

Constructing data flows and using the technologies the client has available to your full advantage. Be able to demonstrate that the data flows are safe, fit for purpose and evidence of controls across the area.

Working in an agile way to collaborate towards the delivery of new data solutions for a wide range of stakeholders across the bank.

Data translation that enables the business to make better decision.

Data visualisation, building a story using information to allow a complex story to be more understandable.

Experience with all skills are not required but the ideal candidate will have some of these requirements

Experience with SQL

Strong ETL skills

Data management

Data modelling / data modelling interpretation

Java and other programming languages such as python

Experience with hadoop and spark

Cloud experience with AWS, Azure or GCP
