Wintel and Virtualisation Engineer

Role Responsibilities:
* Install, Configure, Upgrade and Maintain VMWare ESX servers
* Configuring the HA and DRs Clusters
* Work on major severity and complex server issues
* Backup and restore VMWare servers
* RCA preparation and meeting SLA for RCA submission
* Planning and implementing fixes / Patches
* Performance and capacity management on VMWare servers
* Complex Health Checking
* Analyze Problems
* Act on Day to Day House Keeping tasks by using tools & scripts
* Work with Change & Problem Management Tools
* Create regular reports for Management requirements
* Problem determination and resolution within Expected time frame
* Identify and recommend improvements to existing processes
* Configuration, Management and hosting of virtual environment on Hyper-v.
* Good experience on SCVMM Configuration, VM Template creation modification and deployment.
* Good understanding and experience on DR failover process from SCVMM perspective.
* Good exposure on Windows Failover clustering on Host and VM level.
* Good knowledge on management of Active directory, Group Policy, DHCP.
* Hands on knowledge on powershell scripting is added advantage.
Daily tasks:
* Identifying the failures on Wintel Job scheduler
* Installation, configuration of Servers on Hyper-v.
* Capacity management of Hyper-v hosts
* Troubleshooting Wintel issues which consist but not limited to: Active directory, DNS, DHCP, No-boot, Hyper-v host related issues, SCVMM related issues, Performance, Hardware, driver, firmware issues issues etc.
* Incident management and adhering to SLA's. Working on RCA's, doing problem management for recurring issues.
* Working with Hardware, OS vendors to troubleshoot and fix the issues.
* Change Management:
* Creation of virtual servers as per user requirement.
* Monthly patching of windows Host and Guests using Cluster Aware updating and WSUS.
* Performing the monthly capacity management of Host Cluster resources.
* Maintain the Asset tracker
* Adhere to change management policies and compliance and continuously work on improvement of process.
* Work in Sync with Storage, Network, Linux and application teams on various issues.
