A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health and Safety professional within a leading research and development company, to work on a technically challenging project to design a real life test scenario for autonomous vehicles within a public space.

Do you have experience of working as a Health and Safety Engineer within the civils', construction or transport industries? Do you have experience in thinking outside the box when it comes to risks to public safety?

This state of the art research centre is undertaking a project to develop the UK's first test bed for autonomous vehicles within a real life scenario amongst the public. This is a brand new role and incorporates understanding of risk assessments and health and safety with in Civil, highways and transport towards the public. You will have to think outside the box to come up with the potential risks and how to overcome them whilst abiding to H&S policy.

In this role you will offer technical expertise in regards to health and safety, the changes that will have to be implemented to the test area to keep the public safe and the legal requirements that will have to be considered. Communication skills are key as you will be dealing with industrial partners and stakeholders over the course of the project.

The role would suit an experienced and versatile Health and Safety professional with experience in a construction, civil and highways background, who is looking to work on a technically challenging and ground breaking project, in an autonomous role which is brand new to the UK.
