We're currently working on behalf of a growing financial services organisation, who are looking for a permanent IT Operations Support Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team, with excellent career progression prospects and high earning potential.

Our client is a credit organisation with an ambitious but simple goal: to be the best in the market. Their business is going from strength to strength, in fact, they've grown from a team of 50 to around 800 in just 3 years! Now, they are looking for permanent specialists to grow with them.
The ideal candidate
* Advance troubleshooting knowledge with Hardware, Windows OS, VMWare, NetBackup and Citrix XenApp.
* Experience in working with IaaS workload in Azure and troushoooting issues related to VMs, storage, and other IaaS components.
* Strong troubleshooting knowledge with Active directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange 2013, Lync, SharePoint, Symantec AV.
* Strong virtualization experience using VMWare and Hyper-V.
* Experience in identification and mitigation of hardware, OS and application vulnerability.
* Proven experience in building and supporting infrastructure on Azure cloud.
* Knowledge of hardware components, driver and firmware upgrade and troubleshooting procedures.
* Experience with Dell and HP Storage and fibre switches.
* Knowledge of Networking tools including troubleshooting experience with TCP/IP v4 and v6 protocol, SNMP, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, ICMP.
* Proven experience of data centre migrations.
* Experience of delivering complete infrastructure solutions for projects including DR, capacity planning, environment strategy and hosting requirements.

What you'll do
* Develop and operationally run Infrastructure services that are aligned within the overall NewDay Cloud first strategy.
* Manage day to day operations of cloud based business applications, IaaS solutions and managed DCs.
* Test and implement cloud-based and on-prem technical solutions based on NewDay policies and standards, with the ultimate goal of enhancing NewDay business development and delivery to customers.
* Design, implement and support core infrastructure services e.g. Active directory, Exchange 2013, Lync, NetBackup, VMware, Citrix XenApp, Symantec AV.
* Work on mitigation of reported/identified vulnerabilities within agreed SLA.
* Participate in capacity, efforts planning with stakeholders and IT groups and provides recommendations for improvements.
* Recommends settings changes to the operating system to improve performance and reliability.
* Develop, maintain, document and support tools and utilities to provide capacity planning.
* Ensures IT system security and patching baselines are met and security improvements are implemented across the server environment.
* Analyse data from monitoring activities and define comprehensive, system wide improvements, monitors performance and proactively identify issues, making recommendations for eliminating those issues.
* Collaborate with other members of IT teams, Dev/Ops, Developers, Project team, NewDay leadership, Tech Risk and MSPs to develop appropriate technical solutions and standards to meet NewDay business objectives.
* Be a problem solver using technical experience to create and deliver innovative solutions and support the NewDay goals in secure cloud adoption.
* Work closely with Suppliers and MSPs to ensure SLAs, operational efficiencies and optimum usage of technologies
